How to operate the program?
Starting point:
If you can see this window, you are able to play trisentis
(like explained in part one of this documentation).
To play, just click the grey rectangles in the centre of the window.
Furthermore there are different functionalities which are used as follows.
Menu
Clicking in the main menu "Game" will show this sub menu:
- By "New Game", you can reset the board. All cards will be turned face down.
- "Solve Game" shows one possible solution for your current boardsize.
(Either animated, or step by step)
For further information, take a look at the end of this document where it reads
"Dialogs" and "Solve Dialog"
- Clicking "Board Size" shows another menu for choosing a different
board size than the standard (4x4).
- Through "New Image...", "1Image","2Image",
"3Image" and "4Image" it's possible to load different images to
the playcards (which will be turned face up while playing). This option will turn
all cards face down again, so do not change the image if you are playing and have not given
up yet.
While loading images, the "Crop&Load-Dialog" will appear. It is described at
the end of this document, as well.
- "Exit" ends the game completely and all open windows become closed.
Matrix Calculation
"Matrix Calculation" in the menu "View" opens a new window, containing
the calculations:
By clicking appears a new window:
This window allows you to comprehend how this game is realised mathematically.
A "0" represents a covered field and a "1" an uncovered field.
Clicking on a field (i.e. (3,3)) will generate a new Matrix, which contains all
changes, (the second matrix in the picture) and is added to the first matrix, which
shows the current state (before the move). This result can be seen in Matrix Nr.3.
Dialogs
Crop&Load Dialog
This dialog alerts you, that cropping and loading a new image may take some
time. Depending on the CPU, these time can vary. In general you can say that your PC will
take more time for loading big images than for small, and more time for cropping
an image into many pieces than into less. The time period when cropping to 4x4 is
less by factor 10 than when cropping to 20x20.
Solve Dialog
The solve dialog gives you two different possibilities to show a solution.
By choosing "Complete!" you'll see an animated solution, which makes all
necessary steps delayed. You can stop this animation by clicking "New Game".
Your second possibility is to request every single step.
"Step by Step >>" will show you the next step. This "Step by Step" modus
is very good to comprehend every step.
